Netflix‘s latest mini-series, Untamed, starring the veteran Eric Bana, puts quite an emphasis on its location. Set in the Yosemite National Park, the series follows a murder mystery that keeps things fresh and interesting until the very end.
But was the series really filmed in Yosemite National Park? Here is a breakdown of the filming locations used in Untamed.

Though the setting of the series is based around Yosemite National Park, it was not filmed in the actual location. Instead, the creators filmed most of the show in Canada, specifically in the province of British Columbia. Here is a list of all the major locations used in the series:
Mount Seymour
Mount Seymour served as a major part of the setting. In the show, it represented El Capitan, a granite monolith in Yosemite National Park. It was also the location from which the body seemingly fell.
Murdo Frazer Park Cabin, North Vancouver
The isolated wooden cabin in Murdo Frazer Park is a common shooting location. In Untamed, it served as Agent Turner’s cabin.
Grace Lake
This quaint lake appeared in several scenes throughout the series. It often added to the haunting atmosphere of the investigation. It served as a stand-in for Grouse Lake.
Whistler Olympic Park
The production team used the popular park, which hosted some events of the 2010 Winter Olympics, to represent Yosemite National Park in Untamed.
Greenwood Park
The production team also used Greenwood Park as a substitute for Yosemite National Park, just like they did with Whistler Olympic Park.
Deloca Farm, Deroche
This farm served as the base for a squatter community that lived a hippy-like existence in the series. The real location also functions as a farming community.
Eagles Hall, Maple Ridge
The production team used this hall, a popular location for gatherings, as the base for the Forest Rangers in the Netflix drama. It also played an important role in the storyline.
Cheakamus River and ‘Balls to the Wall’ Waterfall
The Cheakamus River featured in multiple scenes in Untamed. Many scenes in the forest involved hiking and trekking in this area.
Nita Lake Lodge
They used Nita Lake Lodge to depict the Yan-O-Pah Hotel in Yosemite Valley. This location was central to the story.
