Stuart Big Bang Theory Spin-off Sets Cast, Gets HBO Max Order

Warner Bros. has officially unveiled more about the planned Big Bang Theory spin-off series featuring the character of Stuart, rounding out the cast for the highly anticipated show.

Who is in the Big Bang Theory spin-off cast?

The Big Bang Theory spin-off cast is led by Kevin Sussman, who reprises his role as comic book store owner Stuart Bloom. Alongside Sussman, the series will also star returning Big Bang Theory alum Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert, and John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke.

Along with the casting information, the series has also been given an order at HBO Max. The show is set to follow Bloom who is “tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon,” reads the show’s logline.

“Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from “The Big Bang Theory.” As the title implies, things don’t go well.”

“We’re excited to be continuing the legacy of The Big Bang Theory. Much like the original series, this new chapter wouldn’t be possible without the vision and storytelling brilliance of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, as well as Zak Penn, who has brought fresh insight and a distinctive voice to an already exceptional creative team,” said HBO CEO Casey Bloys.

The project is written and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, with Warner Bros. Television serving as its producer. The original sitcom was one of the longest-running multi-camera CBS shows, as it lasted for twelve seasons with a total of 279 episodes from 2007-2019. It starred Jim Parsons as Sheldon, Johnny Galecki as Leonard, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Simon Helberg as Howard, Kunal Nayyar as Raj, Mayim Bialik as Amy, and Melissa Rauch as Bernadette.

During its run, The Big Bang Theory successfully won multiple Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Parsons’ memorable performance.
