Road House 2 Gets Release Date Update After Director Exits

Road House 2 is switching up directors, Deadline reports. The news also comes with new information on the film’s production.

What is the latest Road House 2 release date update?

According to Deadline’s report, Road House 2 will be looking for a new director, as Guy Ritchie is out of the sequel at Amazon MGM Studios. No official reason was reported as to why Ritchie backed out of the film, but Deadline notes that Amazon remains extremely invested in the project.

With the search for a new director likely to begin immediately, Deadline notes that the studios’ plan is to keep the production on track to film in the fall. The report also mentions that casting for the film is still underway, so it seems as if Ritchie leaving won’t impact the film’s plans too much.

The first film, released in 2024, was directed by Doug Liman. The sequel will reportedly be written by Bad Boys: Ride or Die’s Will Beall. Most of the film, including its cast and plot, remain under wraps. However, it has been reported that Dave Bautista recently joined onto the project.

The first movie also starred UFC star Conor McGregor, The Suicide Squad breakout Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen (Game Night), Gbemisola Ikumelo (The Last Tree), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus), Hannah Love Lanier (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Travis Van Winkle (Accepted), B.K. Cannon (Switched at Birth), Arturo Castro (Broad City), Dominique Columbus (Ray Donovan), Beau Knapp (Southpaw), and Bob Menery.
