Curious what happened to Kristin Cabot, the woman at the center of the viral Coldplay kiss cam video? Footage of her embracing Astronomer CEO Andy Byron at a concert sparked immediate backlash, raising questions about workplace conduct, personal relationships, and corporate accountability.
Here’s what happened to Kristin Cabot, the Coldplay kiss cam woman, and why she remains in the spotlight.
What happened to Kristin Cabot?
Astronomer placed Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot on administrative leave after she appeared on the jumbotron embracing CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The viral incident sparked widespread speculation about an affair, as reports indicate both are married to other people.
Andy Byron resigned days after the incident, while Cabot has not stepped down. Legal experts suggest the company may be delaying action due to internal investigations and possible contractual obligations. Attorney Nicole Brenecki noted, “In a real-world big company, you can’t just fire someone because the headlines are ugly” (via New York Post).
Kristin Cabot married Andrew Cabot, the sixth-generation owner of Privateer Rum and heir to one of Boston’s wealthiest families. Public records show they purchased a $2.2 million home in New Hampshire earlier in 2025. Her LinkedIn, now deleted, indicated she joined Privateer Rum’s advisory board in 2020.
Astronomer released a statement reaffirming its commitment to professional standards, saying, “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.” Cofounder Pete DeJoy, now interim CEO, commented, “While I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.”
Cabot began working at Astronomer in November 2024. Her future with the company remains uncertain. Attorney William Cafaro said it’s “difficult to conceive” how she could continue in her role and suggested an exit agreement may be under negotiation.
Employment lawyer Douglas Wigdor added that more information could surface, affecting Cabot’s standing: “Maybe there’s more to the story from her.” Astronomer has not responded to recent media inquiries regarding Cabot’s employment status.
