UPDATE 7/21: Per Deadline, Rachel Bloom and Patrick Brammall have joined the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2.
The first photo from The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been shared by Anne Hathaway.
The Devil Wears Prada is a 2006 comedy drama that was released by 20th Century Fox. Directed by David Frankel, it stars Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andrea “Andy” Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling.
The movie was a big hit at the time, as it made approximately $327 million at the global box office. It also earned two Oscar nominations: Best Actress for Streep and Best Costume Design for Patricia Field.

What do we know about The Devil Wears Prada 2?
Streep, Blunt, and Tucci are also reprising their roles in The Devil Wears Prada 2, while Frankel is returning to direct. Aline Brosh McKenna, who wrote the first movie, penned the screenplay.
Per Variety, “Though plot details haven’t been confirmed, the story reportedly follows Runway’s terrifying editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing. She faces off against Blunt’s character, her one-time assistant who is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group, with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”
Kenneth Branagh has joined the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 and will play Streep’s character’s husband, while other newcomers include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamora, and Caleb Hearon. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman will reprise their respective roles as Lily and Irv.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released in United States theaters on May 1, 2026, from 20th Century Studios. The first movie, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Disney+.
