Kevin Feige on When Fans Can Expect To See Miles Morales’ Spider-Man in MCU

Kevin Feige recently gave an update on the prospect of Marvel fans seeing Miles Morales in the MCU. In a recent discussion, the Marvel Studios president opened up on the possibility of introducing Morales’ Spider-Man, providing a rough timeline regarding the character’s potential appearance in the MCU.

Kevin Feige confirms Miles Morales’ MCU debut won’t happen until 2027

While speaking with a group of journalists at Marvel Studios’ offices on the Disney lot in Burbank, California, Kevin Feige stated that the MCU is not working towards a live-action project involving Miles Morales at the moment.

Addressing questions about the highly anticipated debut of Morales’ Spider-Man in the MCU, Feige bluntly noted, “That is nowhere.” The veteran Marvel executive cited the reason as being that the film rights to Miles Morales presently reside with Sony Pictures. “Sony has their brilliant, genius, incredible Spider-Verse animated franchise going, and until that finishes, we’ve been told to stay away,” Feige added. At the time of writing, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is on track to hit theaters on June 25, 2027. As such, according to Kevin Feige’s comments, Miles Morales’ Spider-Man won’t be able to feature in an MCU movie or TV show until 2027 at the earliest.

Despite the uncertainty regarding Miles Morales’ future in Marvel’s live-action projects, the MCU has already made subtle references to the character in multiple movies. 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming first alluded to the beloved superhero when Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis, aka Prowler, noted that he has a nephew who lives in Queens. Then, 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home hinted at the possibility of Miles Morales existing in the MCU when Jamie Foxx’s Electro stated, “There’s got to be a Black Spider-Man out there somewhere.”

While the MCU seems to have already laid the groundwork for Miles Morales’ debut, Kevin Feige’s statements suggest that it could take years before this idea becomes a reality.
