The Fantastic Four: First Steps box office projections are here for the MCU film’s opening weekend, and while they remain strong, it seems as if the heroic group will have trouble catching a fellow superhero.

According to a new report from Deadline, The Fantastic Four: First Steps box office projections for the film’s opening weekend remain strong. Projections show the film tracking somewhere between $100m-110m, with the film also outpacing other MCU films like Thunderbolts and Captain America: Brave New World for presales.
While not an exact competition, though, it does seem like First Steps is currently trailing behind Superman in some key regards. Despite projections in the same range as First Steps, Superman opened with a strong $125 million opening weekend. Its presales, according to Deadline’s report, were also 20% ahead of First Steps ahead of its opening weekend.
The cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is led by Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. The film also includes Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer. Additionally, Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Kevin Feige serves as a producer on the project, while executive producers include Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis. Mitch Bell is a co-producer, while the music comes from Michael Giacchino.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released in United States theaters on July 25, 2025. It has been confirmed that Pascal, Kirby, Quinn, and Moss-Bachrach will all return for Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives in December 2026.
