Paramount Plus’s new releases for July 21-27, 2025, will be RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 and RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked Season 16.
RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 makes its way onto Paramount Plus on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The season originally aired on January 3, 2025, and concluded on April 18, 2025, via MTV, which also aired the previous two seasons of the hit contest show. In this season, RuPaul, who returns as host and head judge, goes on a hunt for the “Next Drag Superstar” of the United States.
Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ts Madison, and Ross Matthews also reprise their roles as regular judges. Law Roach, best known for being the stylist of celebrities like Zendaya, Céline Dion, and Anya Taylor-Joy, joins the judicial panel after featuring as a guest judge in the previous season.
Onya Nurve emerged as the winner this season, gaining the title of “Next Drag Superstar” and a hefty cash prize of $200,000. Meanwhile, Jewels Sparkles became the runner-up, while Crystal Envy got voted Miss Congeniality.
RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, Season 16 also drops on Paramount Plus on July 23.
Untucked Season 16 originally premiered on MTV on January 3, 2025, and lasted for 14 episodes until April 4, 2025. A spin-off of the main series, it offers viewers behind-the-scenes stories of the crew behind RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The show has been nominated for 14 Emmy Awards. These include eight nominations for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program, with the show bagging one win. It also includes six nominations for Outstanding Picture Editing for an Unstructured Reality Program.
