Superman star Rachel Brosnahan revealed in a recent interview that she hired a witch to alleviate her travel curse. The DC Universe film has currently grossed around $262 million at the global box office against its $225 million budget. The superhero flick has received positive reviews from fans and critics, who have lauded the story, performances, and action sequences.
Rachel Brosnahan talks about hiring a witch
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star appeared in a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she told the talk show host that she had “been suffering from a travel curse for the last 10 years.”
“It’s been so bad, Jimmy,” Rachel Brosnahan told Fallon. The Courier actress explained that her travels were “never not as stressful as humanly possible.” She further shared that DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran would not travel with her.
Brosnahan said that no one believed the curse until they traveled with her. She then recounted two specific incidents involving the curse. The first one being when she was filming a show in New Mexico and releasing a film at Cannes.
“The first time I remember it happening, I was shooting a show in New Mexico and premiering a film at Cannes, Brosnahan stated. “They gave me 36 hours off the show to promote this film. I was on my way there, it was a beautiful day in May in sunny, gorgeous New Mexico.”
She continued, “All of a sudden, an apocalyptic snowstorm hit, A complete whiteout. I made it by the skin of my teeth.” Brosnahan remarked that people shouldn’t have let her on the plane, even though she reached her destination nonetheless.
The second time was when she was traveling to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. She texted her travel friends, who successfully got on their flights. Unfortunately for the Lois Lane actress, she was stuck at Los Angeles airport for “eight hours.” Things got worse when her baggage and reservations ended up getting lost.
Rachel Brosnahan revealed she desperately consulted people and enquired about an “energy healer” or “past-life reader,” due to her worry about the Superman tour. She berated the person who put the travel curse on her, calling them “petty.”
Brosnahan subsequently hired a witch to lift her travel curse. The witch brought a wishing well and a wand and tackled the curse with Brosnahan, after the former signed an NDA. “She seemed pretty skilled and ready to take it on,” she added. “I’m happy to report that it worked.”
