Yellowjackets Season 4 Star Gives Exciting Filming & Release Date Update

As fans eagerly await the release of Yellowjackets Season 4, Christina Ricci, who plays Misty in the series, recently shed some light on a potential release date window for the upcoming season. In a recent interview, Ricci reflected on the progress of production for the fourth season, potentially providing insight into its shooting schedule.

Christina Ricci says Yellowjackets Season 4 will start filming in early 2026

While speaking with The Direct about her upcoming film Guns Up, Ricci noted that even though Showtime has yet to confirm a filming date for the fourth season of Yellowjackets, shooting could commence in January 2026. As such, Yellowjackets Season 4 could have a release date window in the final quarter of 2026.

“I don’t think we’re going to start filming until January. I think it was only [renewed] four weeks ago, maybe a month ago. It was pretty recently, yeah,” the actress remarked. Ricci also stated that due to the very recent renewal of the acclaimed series, it could be some time before the writers of the show get together to pen the script for the fourth season. “I don’t even think the [writers] room has started yet,” she mentioned.

If Ricci’s estimate about the filming window of Yellowjackets Season 4 turns out to be true, it is likely that the season’s release date will occur in the final months of 2026. The shooting periods of previous Yellowjackets seasons have traditionally lasted for six months, with each season premiering around one to three months after the completion of production.

However, it has also not yet been confirmed that Yellowjackets Season 4 will follow the filming and release patterns of its predecessors. Additionally, the much-awaited fourth season, despite Christina Ricci’s encouraging updates, has yet to receive any official update on its production.
