A-1 Pictures has confirmed that the opening of Solo Leveling Season 2 contains Easter eggs that many fans may have missed. Based on the South Korean web novel of the same name, also known as Only I Level Up, the Solo Leveling anime went on the become one of the most successful animated projects of recent years. Apart from setting new streaming records, the anime bagged the Anime of the Year award at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, as well as other accolades.
Solo Leveling Season 2’s Easter eggs from the opening revealed
Solo Leveling Season 2’s opening included Easter eggs that many viewers seemed to miss.
At the Anime Expo 2025, the production house behind the hit anime, A-1 Pictures, unveiled some behind-the-scenes details regarding the making of Solo Leveling. While sharing the details, A-1 Pictures declared that the first Easter egg was a spark effect at the beginning of the opening. According to them, the spark was added to indicate the control in the animation of Solo Leveling Season 2, also known as Arise From the Shadow. (via Screen Rant)
The second Easter egg is the gambling chips shown after Cha Hae-In’s second shot in the opening. These chips are embedded with the emblem of the Hunter’s Association, and there are only six chips shown. This nods to the six S-rank hunters that take part in the Jeju Island Raid.
Viewers can also see only three of Sung Jinwoo’s Shadow soldiers in the opening. This was a decision by the director to create mystery around the leveling up he underwent in Season 2 and conceal the number of Shadow soldiers Jinwoo acquires. These shadows, which appeared in the opening, are notably Tank, Iron, and Igris.
Since Solo Leveling Season 2 wrapped up, fans have been eager to get updates on Season 3. While attending the CCXP Mexico ’25, animation producer Atsushi Kaneko didn’t provide any concrete updates and said, “My position doesn’t allow me to confirm Season 3 in front of the media.”
