Martin Scorsese’s Hilarious Reaction to Emmy Nomination Is Amazing

Martin Scorsese has a hilarious reaction to his Emmy nomination.

Scorsese just earned his first Emmy Award nomination for a guest-starring role. The Oscar-winning director appeared in the first episode of The Studio, which was created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, among others.

In the episode, Scorsese, who is playing himself, pitches Rogen’s Matt Remick character on a big-budget movie about the Jonestown massacre. Matt initially wants to make the movie, but then changes his mind and tells his boss that he bought Scorsese’s script in order to ensure it never gets made. Scorsese later finds out about this and breaks down into tears.

A number of other actors were also nominated for guest-starring in The Studio, including Ron Howard, Anthony Mackie, Dave Franco, Bryan Cranston, and Zoë Kravitz.

Scorsese has won three Emmys throughout his career: Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the pilot episode of Boardwalk Empire, Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special for George Harrison: Living in the Material World, and Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming for George Harrison: Living in the Material World.

Scorsese’s most recent movie was 2023’s Killers of the Flower Moon. He’s got a handful of projects that are being developed at this time, including his Jesus movie and the mobster film set in Hawaii with Dwayne Johnson.

All ten episodes of The Studio, meanwhile, are available to stream on Apple TV+. The series has been renewed for a second season, though a premiere date has not yet been announced. In addition to Rogen, the show’s main cast includes Catherine O’Hara as Patty Leigh, Ike Barinholtz as Sal Saperstein, Chase Sui Wonders as Quinn Hackett, and Kathryn Hahn as Maya Mason.
