Superman star Edi Gathegi recently revealed whether his character Mister Terrific will appear in the Lanterns TV show or not. The film, which was released on July 11, 2025, marks the first DCU film, and there have been speculations around Mister Terrific’s potential appearance in the upcoming series.
Edi Gathegi says his Mister Terrific won’t join Nathan Fillion in Lanterns
Edi Gathegi had a chat with Variety regarding his character, Mister Terrific, where he shared whether he would join the Lanterns TV show.
Mister Terrific is a part of the Justice Gang in Superman alongside Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner and Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl. While his Justice Gang pal Fillion’s Gardner will appear in the upcoming DC show, Gathegi was asked about his status. To this, he replied, “Oh, no, I can tell you that I’m not.”
However, Gathegi did convey that he is set to appear in multiple DCU projects in the future. “I have a multi-project deal, but the specifics of that are unknown to me,” the actor said. “What James is driving home is the idea that they’re never going to rush into production with scripts that aren’t ready, so even whatever they do have planned for my characters is irrelevant until the draft comes in and it’s shootable. I want to be involved in this universe in a major way.”
The TV show Lanterns, based on the Green Lantern Corps, is expected to arrive sometime in 2026. It features Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, and Fillion as Gardner, along with many other stars.
Recently, Fillion had a conversation with Entertainment Weekly recently, wherein he spoke about the series. “In that show…boy, Guy Gardner. I’ve dropped more F-bombs in that project than I have in, I think, my entire career put together,” he said.
