Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm actor Joseph Quinn recently weighed in on who he believes is the best Spider-Man. In a new interview, Quinn praised the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s portrayal of Peter Parker, expressed interest in a potential team-up, and reflected on the legacy of their characters’ comic book friendship.
Joseph Quinn would like to team up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man after Fantastic Four
During an interview at the film’s premiere, Joseph Quinn told DiscussingFilm, “Absolutely, that would be amazing! Tom’s performance as Peter Parker is… he’s the best Spider-Man ever, so that would be… that’d be awesome, yeah.”
Quinn’s comment adds to fan speculation about a possible crossover between the Human Torch and Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The characters have teamed up in comics for decades, but they have never appeared together in live-action. Studio rights reportedly made this difficult. Marvel Studios gained access to the Fantastic Four in 2019 after acquiring 20th Century Fox. Sony still owns the rights to Spider-Man’s live-action films.
Quinn will return as the Human Torch in Avengers: Doomsday, set for release in 2026. Holland, who has played Peter Parker since 2016, is set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, expected to be released on July 31, 2026. No confirmed Marvel project features both characters together. However, reports suggest Holland may appear in Doomsday, though Marvel has not confirmed this.
Marvel Studios expects both the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man to play major roles in the final chapters of the Multiverse Saga. If Holland joins Doomsday, it would be the first time Johnny Storm and Peter Parker appear together in the MCU. The Fantastic Four: First Steps debuts in theaters on July 25, 2025.
Rights issues previously prevented a crossover between the two franchises. However, Marvel Studios’ control over the Fantastic Four and its ongoing collaboration with Sony have reportedly increased the possibility of such a team-up becoming reality.
