A new update on Arkane Lyon’s Blade video game has surfaced, suggesting that the game’s release date is likely a little further away than what most fans envisioned.
When is the Blade video game’s release date window?
According to Arkane’s most recent financial statements for 2024 (which originally surfaced on Bluesky and ResetEra), the company didn’t commence the production phase of Blade until the end of the year.
The financial report goes on to mention that a tentative release date for the title is November 2027. However, due to the nature of video games and how often projects get delayed, it’s possible that the game comes out even later than that.
The news came as a surprise to many, as fans had thought Marvel’s Blade was already deeper into development. The game was first announced in December 2023 during The Game Awards 2023. However, reports surfaced that the project had preliminary work done on it dating back to January 2022. That seems to have been more focused on creating a prototype and making sure everything was good to go from a production standpoint, though.
Currently, not too much is known about Marvel’s Blade. The brief teaser trailer for the game revealed that the game would take place in France and showed Blade getting a haircut in a barbershop as the sun set. Toward the end of the trailer, Blade prepares to head out and fight vampires.
