ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Thunderbolts* clip, showing off the VFX skills that it took to make the latest MCU movie.
What happens in the Thunderbolts* clip?
The exclusive Thunderbolts* clip is an exclusive look behind the film’s VFX work. Led by VFX Supervisor Nikos Kalaitzidis, who collaborated closely with director Jake Schreier and Overall VFX Supervisor Jake Morrison, Digital Domain breaks down some of the “invisible” VFX used in the movie, as well as how it was implemented to further enhance the film’s practical sets.

Thunderbolts* is available to rent or own on digital platforms, and will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on July 29. For collectors, you can also get the 4K Ultra HD edition in a limited-edition SteelBook, which will include custom artwork and premium packaging. In addition, Walmart is releasing a U.S. exclusive pop-up Blu-ray package.
The film was directed by Jake Schreier from a screenplay written by Lee Sung Jin, based on the first draft by Eric Pearson. The cast also includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbour (Stranger Things) as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters) as John Walker/US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man & The Wasp) as Ava Starr/Ghost, Olga Kurylenko (Hitman) as Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick) as Sentry, Geraldine Viswanathan (Miracle Workers), and more.
“Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes with Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker,” reads the official synopsis. “After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission. Forced to confront the darkest corners of their pasts, will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite before it’s too late?”
