General Hospital Fans Debate if Michael Is Being Cruel to Willow

Fans of the ABC soap opera General Hospital believe that Michael Corinthos III (Rory Gibson) is treating his former wife, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), poorly. Michael and Willow were married until recently and went through a bitter divorce. An even more terrible custody battle followed between the two afterward for their two children. Ultimately, Michael secured full legal and physical custody of Wiley and Amelia, leaving Willow devastated. Since then, Michael’s behavior toward Willow has remained cold and distant, leading fans to debate whether he is being cruel to his former spouse.

Is Michael being cruel to Willow on General Hospital?

Some fans argue that Michael is being cruel to Willow, though others in the fandom hold contradictory opinions. A viewer posted on the General Hospital Facebook fan page that they think that Michael is being cruel to Willow. While some agreed with the sentiment in the comment sections, others vehemently disagreed, pointing out their versions of things that happened between the estranged couple.

In a new episode of General Hospital, Michael takes Wiley to his swimming lesson. He discovers that Willow is watching them from a distance. He then asks her to leave. Michael does not care how terrible it must be for her to stay away from her children. Admittedly, Willow has made some terrible mistakes in her life, and the ramifications of them are catching up to her. She actively made decisions that had her put Drew above her children. And now that she no longer has access to them, all she can do is feel horrible about her past actions and try to see them despite the legal orders.

However, while trying to emotionally hurt Willow, Michael is evidently causing his children pain, even if unintentionally. In the above-mentioned episode, Wiley runs to his mother, indicating how much he has missed her.

Michael and Willow have to figure out a way forward, or their children will continue to suffer.
