Over the weekend, Sega revealed a brand-new trailer for its upcoming racing game Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. It revealed that the titular character of SpongeBob SquarePants and his best friend, Patrick Star, will be joining the race as DLC. Additionally, it revealed characters from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar Legends will join the roster in the future.
When does the TMNT and Avatar Legends DLC come to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds?
In the trailer, which can be seen below, gameplay of both SpongeBob and Patrick is shown. The fan-favorite Nickelodeon characters will be part of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Season Pass, which features a total of 6 Content Packs, which include characters, vehicles, tracks, and emotes, all of which are showcased in the trailer.
The end trailer stinger is the reveal of TMNT and Avatar Legends DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Not much is known about both packs, but it should be noted that it specifically names TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, so the character models for that pack will probably be based on the 2023 film.
As of right now, there are no release dates for any of the Content Packs for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. However, there does seem to be a release order. The first pack will be the Minecraft Pack, the second will be SpongeBob SquarePants, the third is TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, and the fourth is Avatar Legends. The fifth and sixth have not yet been revealed.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds races to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 25.
Two versions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds can be preordered right now. The Standard Edition just includes the base game for $69.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, the Sonic Prime Character Pack, Season Pass, and 3 days of early access for $89.99. Preordering any edition will get players the Werehog character, based on the Sonic Unleashed character.
