Hulu has officially announced the King of the Hill reboot release date, sharing when the highly anticipated return of Mike Judge’s animated comedy will arrive along with a first look at the show.
When is the King of the Hill reboot release date?
King of the Hill will officially return to Hulu on August 4, 2025, with 10 episodes arriving on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Alongside the release date, the credit sequence for the new show was shown off and reveals tons of new information.
In the credit sequence, the Hills can be seen moving away, with a new neighbor arriving for a bit before Hank and Peggy return home to Arlen, Texas. Along the way, it looks like Dale Gribble is running for mayor, Boomhauer has a family, and much more.
According to the revival’s synopsis, Season 14 of King of the Hill will pick up after the show’s original ending. Years after “working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.”
King of the Hill Season 14 will star Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss. It’s currently unclear how the show will address several characters, including Luanne (Brittany Murphy), Lucky (Tom Petty), and Dale (Johnny Hardwick), all of whose voice actors have since passed away.
The King of the Hill revival will once again be executive produced by Daniels and Judge, with the latter also returning to voice his role as Hank Hill. The project is produced by 20th Television Animation and Bandera Entertainment.
It will be executive produced by Dustin Davis along with original producers 3 Arts’ Michael Rottenberg and Howard Klein. This isn’t the first time that Hulu has greenlit an animated Fox revival, as the streamer previously ordered the upcoming reboot of Futurama.
