Apple TV+ has officially announced that The Studio Season 2 renewal for its newest comedy led by Seth Rogen, who’s also serving as the show’s co-creator. This comes after over a month since the series had made its debut. Since then, it has been receiving positive responses from critics and viewers. It currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
What did the creators say about The Studio Season 2 renewal?
In a newly-shared joint statement, Rogen and co-creator Evan Goldberg expressed their excitement for the show’s future, while also promising to include to more personal stories in The Studio Season 2.
“We’re thrilled to be making a second season of The Studio. We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for ten more seasons,” Rogen and Goldberg said (via Variety). “And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”
Apple executive Matt Cherniss added, “Seth, Evan, the entire creative team and cast of ‘The Studio’ have knocked it out of the park with this brilliant show, and it has been incredible to watch the conversation grow with each new episode. We can’t wait to see where Matt Remick takes Continental Studios in season two, and hope for his sake that the Kool-Aid movie crushes at the box office.”
The Studio is created and executive produced by Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, Rogen, and Evan Goldberg, with the latter two also serving as writers and directors. The series will also feature series regulars Catherine O’Hara as Amy, Ike Barinholtz as Sal Seperstein, Kathryn Hahn as Maya, and Chase Sui Wonders as Quinn. Executive producers are Frida Perez, James Weaver, Alex McAtee, and Josh Fagen. It is a production of Lionsgate Television.
